France is a country with money and they could afford to provide the best training facilities to their players. They won the world cup in 1998. They had their good moments but the current team is old and has lost its way. This is the country that gave us Haute-couture, best wine in the world, the baguette, the Eiffel Tower, Chanel, YvesSaintLaurent, and frog legs (apparently it tastes good). Anyway France is the number one tourist destination in the world. France has qualified for many world cup and have given us big names in football like Michel Platini, Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane and many others. The sponsors will be hoping France makes it past the first round. If not, they might have to send all their sporting gears to Afghanistan.

Why they should win:

They should win because it will be good for the 65 million people living in France. The president Nicolas Sarkozy and his supermodel wife Carla Bruni might get a second term. It might also be inspiring to the youths who live the Cités. These youths have a specialty of burning thousands of car every year to celebrate the New Year. Maybe a win might get them to do something useful with their time.  Have you noticed how multiracial the French national team looks?
